Begin bowel preparation the day prior to surgery. Only clear liquids (e.g., Jell-O, apple juice, 7-Up, tea) are allowed the day before surgery.
At 7:00 am, drink 3 tablespoons (1-1/2 oz) of Fleet Phospho-Soda in a half glass (4 oz) of water.
At noon, have a clear-liquid lunch.
At 6:00 pm, have a clear liquid dinner.
At 7:00 pm, drink 3 tablespoons (1-1/2 oz) of Fleet Phospo-Soda in a half glass (4 oz) of water.
Do not eat or drink anything after midnight. If you have been asked to take medications on the morning of surgery, you may do so with only a small sip of water.
