For two weeks before the procedure do not take aspirin or medications containing aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin, Nuprin, Advil) Indocin or Persantine (diprydamole). If you take aspirin or Persantine for your heart or to prevent a stroke, check with your primary physician.
The day before the procedure:
If you are diabetic be sure to receive from us any necessary modifications of the above instructions.
Take a bath or shower the night before or morning of the procedure. Do not use body lotions, oils or powders after the bath or shower.
Women: The procedure should not be done if there is any chance you may be pregnant. You should have a pregnancy test unless: 1) you are using a reliable form of contraception (such as tubal ligation, hysterectomy, birth control pills, vasectomy, abstinence or 2) your last period began less than 5 days ago or 3) you have passed menopause.
Required lab tests: CBC, platelet count, PT, PTT, postassium, creatinine.
Please show this to your regular MD when you have your pre-operative examination. These lab tests may be done by your MD during the History and Physical or will be done the morning of the procedure at the hospital.
Please arrive 1 œ hours before your scheduled procedure time.
